Custom Hard Hat Decals & Pad Printing

A hard hat's shell is a safety component, and ANSI Z89.1 Class E shells are tested to resist electrical contact. A metallic or foil decal defeats that test, and a decoration method that heats or abrades the shell weakens it. So hard hats get decals and pad printing, placed clear of the manufacturer's certification label — never anything that changes the shell itself.

  • Hard hats are decorated without drilling, painting or solvents, so the shell keeps its ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 rating.
  • Manufacturer date and type labels are never covered.
  • Inspect the shell per the manufacturer's instructions; no solvents or paint.

Questions buyers ask

Can you put a metallic or chrome decal on a hard hat?
Not on a Class E shell. Class E is tested as dielectric, and a conductive decal compromises that — so our configurator blocks metallic stock on Class E hats and offers a non-conductive equivalent instead. On a Class G or C shell it is available.
Why can't you engrave or emboss a hard hat?
Anything that removes or deforms shell material reduces the impact protection the shell is certified for. Hard hats are decorated on the surface only.
Can each worker's name go on their hat?
Yes, as individually printed decals from a roster — the usual approach for site access and accountability.
Do I see a proof before you print?
Always. We send a proof showing the exact placement, size, method and colours we will produce, and nothing goes to production until you approve it in writing. Decorated goods are made to order and non-returnable except for our error, so the proof is how we both make sure that error does not happen.
What are your minimums?
They vary by decoration method rather than by product — screen printing and pad printing carry a setup that only makes sense over a run, while transfers and embroidery start much lower. The configurator shows the minimum for whatever you pick before you commit to anything.
Do you sell to public agencies and tax-exempt organisations?
Yes. We are set up for institutional purchasing: purchase orders, net terms for approved accounts, and New Jersey ST-5, ST-4 and ST-3 exemption certificates applied to your order once verified. Ayvan Partners, LLC is an MBE-certified company.
